Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), university code QH, is one of two national university systems in Vietnam, headquartered in Hanoi, and is considered one of the 1000 best universities in the world in Vietnam.

International School (transaction name in English VNU – International School), with I – Innovation, Interdisciplinarity, Internationalization, Intergration, S – Start-up, Self-Study, Sustainability, Self-worth, is a training unit with its own identity and values ​​in VNU, a place to connect East – West, attracting prestigious experts, scientists, and excellent students to study and research, thereby contributing value to society and the community.

The International School has the mission of training high-quality human resources to meet the needs of the domestic and international labor market on the basis of creatively applying advanced educational, scientific and technological achievements to the Vietnamese cultural environment, implementing training programs in foreign languages. That mission is currently being carried out according to 3 pillars: (1) creating new knowledge, transferring knowledge and skills to learners and serving society, contributing to the development of the country; (2) excellently completing the tasks assigned by VNU; (3) financial autonomy.

The predecessor is the International Faculty under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi with 20 years of formation and development, the International School was established under Decision No. 3868/QD-VNU dated December 1, 2021, of the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The International School has been implementing a Program to attract international scholars (including Vietnamese scholars abroad) to lead and preside over training activities, scientific research and technology development. The school has established 16 research groups covering the fields of engineering and technology, economics and management, finance, marketing, data science, photonics, AI, IoTs, machine learning, biomedicine, etc., in cooperation with many leading scientists such as Prof. Dr. Ho Tu Bao, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong, Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hoai An, Dr. Nguyen Viet Cuong, Dr. Tran Quang Tuyen.

With the strategic goal of becoming a prestigious international education hub in Vietnam, the School has developed cooperative relationships with nearly 40 universities, educational, scientific and technological organizations in the world, including schools that are cooperating with the School to implement training programs, such as Keuka College, Troy University (USA); University of East London (UK), Nantes University (France); Moscow University of Energy Engineering (Russia), HELP University (Malaysia), Longshaw University of Science and Technology (Taiwan) … The cooperative training professions span many different fields such as: economics, business, administration, finance, management, engineering, information technology, data science, tourism, hotels …etc.

Currently, the International School has more than 200 lecturers and staff members, the proportion of scientific staff with doctoral degrees accounts for over 60% (100% of specialized lecturers graduated abroad). In addition, the School has a team of foreign lecturers from international partner schools and guest lecturers from domestic higher education and research institutions participating in teaching with a number of over 150 people/year.

Counseling Service

VNU-IS Counseling Services offers 1-1 counseling and guidance for students. Our goal is to best support students to overcome mental difficulties and gradually build-up their self-autonomy and resilience in coping with emotional, psychological, and social well- being issues. Each 1-1 counseling session can last from 45 to 60 minutes. All services are free of charge.

Career Support

With our industrial partners and alumni network, we are proud to bring in internship and job opportunities, office tours, skills development training and career guidance for students. Every year, we connect students to employers in multinational corporations in various sectors: Business, Finance, Hospitality, Information Technology, Marketing and Communications, through a series of events including the annual Job Fair, student contests, workshops and webinars. Accommodation Service

Our Accommodation Service offers support and guidance so that you can choose a suitable accommodation during your study at VNU-IS. You have various choices ranging from an apartment/flat, a student dormitory to a homestay placement.

Vietnamese Class

VNU-IS will open a free Vietnamese class exclusively for international students if there are 20 or more international students enrolled. This class will equip you with basic Vietnamese listening, writing, and speaking skills for your daily communication.
